XPO Logistics has secured a six-year extension as official carrier for the iconic Tour de France, continuing a legacy of innovation in logistics.
XPO Logistics and the Tour de France are celebrating a remarkable milestone with the renewal of their partnership for another six years.
Having worked together since 1980, this collaboration will now carry them to a 50-year anniversary, highlighting their shared dedication to innovation and sustainability.
XPO will remain the official carrier for the Tour de France, the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift and 12 additional cycling events organised by Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), a global leader in managing high-profile sporting events.
As the official logistics partner, XPO handles the essential transport of equipment and materials for every stage of these events. From barriers and podiums to sound systems and sponsor floats, the operation is a logistical feat.
Each item must be delivered with precision, regardless of challenging conditions, tight schedules or varied terrains that include bustling city streets and steep mountain passes.
To achieve this, XPO deploys a team of expertly trained drivers who ensure seamless execution at every step.
Driving sustainability in global sporting events
ASO and XPO share a commitment to sustainability, with the Tour de France implementing several eco-friendly initiatives such as renewable energy use and recycled materials.
To align with these goals, XPO is actively introducing green solutions to its operations.
In 2025, XPO plans to roll out 100% electric trucks for certain stages of the Tour, building on its successful deployment of HVO biofuel (a sustainable alternative to diesel) during the 2024 race season.
The use of HVO biofuel alone reduced CO2 emissions by approximately 215,005 kg during the most recent Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.
Luis Gómez, President of XPO Logistics Europe, highlights the significance of the partnership: “We are particularly proud to continue our mission as the official carrier of the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift over the next six years.
“Our partnership with ASO demonstrates our commitment to tackling logistical challenges while reducing the carbon footprint of world-renowned events.
“Together, we look forward to continuing our successful relationship and reaching our exciting 50-year milestone.”
Expanding the collaboration
Beyond the Tour de France, XPO Logistics’ partnership with ASO extends to a host of other prestigious cycling races, including Paris-Roubaix, Paris-Nice, Critérium du Dauphiné and La Flèche Wallonne.
Each event poses its own logistical challenges, requiring the same level of precision and expertise that XPO consistently delivers.
For XPO’s teams, the partnership is a source of immense pride.
“This partnership renewal recognises our expertise, our leadership and our ability to innovate,” adds Bruno Kloeckner, Managing Director of XPO Logistics France.
“It’s a great satisfaction for our teams which, for more than 44 years, have mobilised on the road and behind the scenes to help ensure the success of these competitions, generating so much enthusiasm among the public.”
The trust and collaboration between XPO and ASO are equally valued by the Tour’s organisers.
“For almost 45 years, the Tour de France and XPO Logistics have grown together. The unfailing reliability and exceptional agility of XPO Logistics is a major asset in the successful organisation of our events. This renewal reflects our mutual trust and acknowledges the quality of the work carried out by our logistics teams. Moreover, for all these years, XPO Logistics has been innovating to support the Tour de France’s ambitions in terms of sustainable development.” – Christian Prudhomme, Director, Tour de France.
As XPO and the Tour de France advance their collaboration, their focus on innovation and sustainability promises to set new benchmarks for cross-industry collaboration.
